Bless Robin’s contact highs.
on November 16, 2021 at 1:01 amHey, it’s Joe’s interdimensional portal! This is actually the first time I drew it, with its appearance at the end of Joyce and Walky! being in something I wrote/drew later. Joe’s company, Rosenthal Industries, is a place Shortpacked! had visited a few times before, but here’s our first look at its basement. I’m sure Walter Peck is very upset somewhere nearby, and as per usual he’d probably be right.
I forget, was Walter Peck in the Axis of Something?
Walter Peck was the EPA agent from Ghostbusters.
Not sure if sarcasm, but he was the EPA guy in Ghostbusters.
Now that there are Stay Puft NFTs, he’s correct that the Ghostbusters are an ecological disaster waiting to happen.
Rosenthal Industries is a multi-billion dollar tech and manufacturing company that sells resurrection and also neat cars, they can presumably afford government sanction for their extremely dangerous mad science projects.
You’re thinking of Walter Mondale.
oh okay, idk my Walters!
I was today years old when I noticed that the portal’s gateway is shaped like the Head Alien’s speech bubbles. I wonder if anyone reading this the first time round caught the foreshadowing.
Is it foreshadowing? Octagonal shapes are a common enough thing that it could be coincidence.
Oh shit …. does this mean Head Alien was behind the entire society in the Battlestar Galactica Reboot? Everything was octagons there too!
… Wait a freakin’ second …. SO THIS IS THIS TEXT BOX.
It’s cool and good actually to run an unlicensed homemade nuclear reactor in the heart of New York that can’t be turned off without causing a minor apocalypse.
It’s probably best not to turn off a homemade nuclear reactor, especially if doing so would likely cause a minor apocalypse. Peck may have been right about how unsafe the thing was, but he was a huge asshole who should’ve listened to the warnings about what would happen if he turned it off.
Yep. Peck had a point, but he was still a moron.
New Poll: Was
Bart O’RyanWalter Peck right?(a) Not at all right
(b) Only a little right
(c) Yes, very much right
It’s “b)” by the way, shutting down unlicensed nuclear projects is good, but ignoring the warnings of your engineer is extremely bad form
Also B, but I’d like to add that it isn’t the EPA’s job to shut down unlicensed nuclear accelerators. That’s the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s job. At best, he should have seen what was down there and called someone at the NRC to hurry the hell down to the unlicensed nuclear device smack in the middle of a population center and let them take it from there.
(d) Yes, he’s right… this man has no d***.
Ha! Wish I’d thought of that.
Incidentally, it’s a pretty neat effect for said portal, especially in glorious color here.
Oh, by the way folks, non-April Fools Shortpacked went up yesterday to push Mallard Fillmore off the front page. Yaaaaaay!
Neat!
**runs over to read**
Huh. Fair enough.
Did something new happen on the duck front or was Willis just tired of it?
Who actually wants Incredulous Anthropomorphic Republican Talking Duck and the Strawmen?
Yeah, I assume now that he’s finally no longer relevant Willis wants to just, not think about that one.
…dang, it’s kinda surreal to see Classic Ethan drawn with 2021!Ethan’s facial proportions.
Fun fact: William Atherton, the actor who played Walter Peck, did such a good job of being an asshole on screen that he had people actually harass him in the street about what Peck did.
