He’s upset because… SPOILERS… if his son is born in *our* universe, than he’ll have our “dimensional signature” instead of his. (it’s explained much better later. MUCH LATER.)
In Dumbingverse they were basically the comments section at the time towards Danny, which is pretty horrible to be towards an actual human, particularly your child. Safe to say his self-esteem deficiencies and anchoring himself to Dorothy and then AG in the name of LOVE were at least in part because of them. (For one thing the clear disappointment when he says Dorothy dumped him and the ‘this was why she broke up with you wasn’t it’ lines.) Not the worst parents, but firmly in the ‘seriously psychologically damaging’ category.
As always I remind people that Sierra’s parents are fantastic, the Saruyamas are pretty dang great, and the elder Keeners (Dorothy’s grandmother included) are all wonderful. None of them have ever, to our knowledge, pulled any of the shit Dargon did here either. And he’s about to Pull Some Shit.
It’s from The Rocketeer. Had to confirm with IMDB, since I remember almost nothing about that movie, but the distinctive appearance of the guy holding the match helped with identification.
Fun facts: The creepy guy also plays the Grand Nagus’s manservant on Deep Space Nine. Speaking of DS9, the guy who plays Rom is also in that movie.
Ah, I’ve never seen that whole movie but I’ve seen bits of it on TV and I think in classes. Same guy who directed Captain America: The First Avenger, right?
Rocketeer is a movie that came out to soon. if it had come out at the peak of the MCU it would have fit perfectly. Also are those shoulder pads, or Epaulettes?
Is this…actual paternal emotion from Dargon Chesterfield?

How much later can it be? Aren’t we in the final chapter?
True, but we still have a decade of Shortpacked! and Joyce and Walky! before the Walkyverse wraps up.
I don’t think Shortpacked! will be rerunning on this site, though Joyce and Walky! is still up in the air.
“MUCH LATER”? It’ll be explained in less than a week.
Really? I know I have shitty memory, but I thought it was farther down the road.
It was actually back in July? http://www.itswalky.com/comic/diffrent-from-everyone-else/
It’s sad that Jason’s dad…. is one of the few decent parents in the Willingverses.
Not by a long shot.
Have we met Danny’s parents or were they so bad they are best left forgotten?

I do not get the reference in the commentary
Willis is from a different time.

“Look, I’m sorry but I lost it, okay? No amount of shouting at me about it is going to bring your Convention Exclusive toy back!”
The Cheese’s line in that last panel has me thinking of the voice of Batman in The Dark Knight for some reason.
