Joyce is a little rusty at praying out loud and probably doesn’t want to say so, and Rikk’s always had the gift of gab, so her deferring to him here, then adding a charming, goofy flourish at the end, makes sense to me.Alisin does a pretty good job unpacking her feelings about this scene later in the story, so I’ll defer to her on that one for now.

It’s not a good look for him
I’m sure it’s awkward for Alisin to overhear them praying, but I think it would’ve been way more awkward for everyone if Rikk and Joyce had decided to pray in front of everyone else who don’t share their beliefs.
Hey Alison where you going don’t you won’t to stick around I think they’re about to play a game of “Hide the Sausage.” I they’ll let you join if you want.
Heh, that’s what I was thinking, too.
“Jinx”, indeed.
Great cliffhanger.
No, Alisin, Rikk wasn’t betraying you. However, you now know just how important his spirituality is to him. Are you able to accept that part of him? Can you even share it, even if only for his sake?
No, Rikk, you messed it up. Unless…is Jinx like criminal testimony, where you can make an exception for talking to your spouse?
