Yeah, but Sal’s was exacerbated by the whole parents thing and then she just spiraled down from there. On the other hand, Sal ALSO never felt the need to wipe her mind, nor did she ever have another personality in her head that to life because she’d repressed it so badly. Same source, but it developed differently.
I’d say it’d take a LOT of skill to climb through a window like that. Near as I can see, she balanced upside-down on top of the part-open swivelley window frame before flicking it open and sliding down it. Ninja stuff.
Hmm. Sal has never visited Danny at college before. It’s possible that he told her what room he was in before she vanished, but it seems unlikely that she’d be able to precisely locate that room from the outside of a building she’s never been in. So clearly she’s just been spidering her way around the building, peering in windows until she sees scattered clothing she recognizes.
*faceplant*
Good thing he didn’t get over her. Things might get awkward if he had Joyce’s picture there.
“Ah ain’t crazy like she is.”
Ahahahahahaha, oh my sides.
She’s crazy in a different way.
Usually.
Actually, since both of their mental instability is the result of alien modification, you might say that they’re crazy in Exactly the same way.

She was brainwashed by the JFO, though, so there’s that.
… I read all this, and I can only remember what about half of it means, because I totally have an amazing memory.
Joyce never tried to blow up the world with a stick, though. I think she wins out here.
“I ain’t crazy like she is” Sal says while climbing through a window to look through her ex’s stuff.
I don’t remember the Roomies/IW! history; at this point is Sal already involved in SEMME?
No, she’s just running away from the aliens. She won’t find out about SEMME til she meets a mysterious British bloke.
Her parents are just “freshly killed”, right?
With a light garnish, yes.
Not entirely relevant but I was just reminded of a quote from one of my favorite trollfics:
“I will have to use stealth instead” said L and jumped in the broken window screaming.
“Yes father, I shall become a Sal.”
I’d say it’d take a LOT of skill to climb through a window like that. Near as I can see, she balanced upside-down on top of the part-open swivelley window frame before flicking it open and sliding down it. Ninja stuff.
I can see why she turned to just smashing them in.

It’s entirely possible he found out what his room was at orientation and he, Sal and Joe went to see it.
Man I wish I had access to the image suitable for this, but I guess I’ll have to do it myself. Ahem
