IT IS OVER, FINISHED!

On a Monday strip, because, really, this epilogue bit didn’t need the whole Sunday treatment, no?

Anyway, this checks off one last item on the very long list of sweet stuff I was able to wrangle out of this crossover.  After Joe has a run-in with Jackie, aka nerd babe hottie, he starts to question his closet nerdness versus his public reputation.  I’m sure this has nothing to do with his ongoing character development.

Let’s see, the rest of the list includes the aforementioned “ticking bomb” of Joyce and Walky’s relationship, Walky’s inflated sense of … whatever he’s got going on, Dina’s had a few important moments, we got to see what The Cheese CAN’T do, and holy crap even Tony got a few good strips.  All that plus we got to subvert the usual pattern of comic crossover plots, and you know how I love my subversions.  Oh, and I improved my comics forever and ever by having to switch to a typeface in order to fit all these words in.  Oh, AND I got to work with T and see my guys drawn by a Waltrip.

It was a good.

Joe’s bedmate is new, of course. I rather envy her ability to go from zero to “zzz” in about 1.5 seconds.
Jackie’s blanket statement about “women” was obviously not a reliable description of all women everywhere, and Squad 128’s high-adrenaline culture might not be the best place to look for women who value builders over brawn. We’ve already established the science division is basically Joe, Professor Doc, and Dina.
Still, we leave Joe with a little hunger that he can’t yet name. Yeah, I still like most of the quiet moments like this one.

Aaaand this is it, the last It’s Walky! I had a role in, and thus this is my last installment of the commentary track, It’s Talky. Thanks, David and everyone, you’ve been great.

FAAAAAAAAAAAAANS
