Disney’s Hansel and Gretel, page 1
on October 30, 2012 at 12:01 amChapter: Disney's Hansel and Gretel
Characters: Danny Wilcox, Joe Rosenthal
Location: Danny and Joe's dorm room
This was the new story for Keenspot Roomies! #2. This page caught all nineteen of this issue’s readers up to date with the events of the previous issue!
To the left is the cover of that issue. Joyce is “sealed C10 case fresh.” Get it? DO YOU GET IT???
“If you press Joe’s nob, he hugs too.”
Joe, I think you were a little too uninformative there.
According to my research only two of these were actually released.
Did those poor people with the twelve issue subscription get their money back? Were there actually people with a twelve issue sub? Were Issue 3 and 4 actually finished? (The Keenspot site doesn’t say they were released like it does for the first two.)
According to the Roomies! year one collection book, issues three and four were not only finished, but published. Issue five was not published, but a story was written for it as well (Willis actually uploaded that one as site filler – it’s the story where Howard goes to a con.)
The first four issues were released.
Holy exposition, Batman!
Who the hell is Danny Welcox?
I don’t get why “sealed C10 case fresh” is funny. English is not my native language. Could someone be so kind as to explain it to me?
“C10” is a grade. It means it’s the best possible condition, on a scale from 1 to 10. “Sealed case fresh” means it’s in the original shipping case, unopened.
To explain further, I’m pretty sure it’s a collectible action-figure geeky way of saying “virgin”, which Joyce is.
It’d work even better for DoA Joyce, who’s so sheltered (she’s only just been removed from her “case”).
I can’t focus because that radio keeps staring at me.
Oh dear Goddess its going to eat my soul!
Looks like Boxbot…
But who would ever want to look like Boxbot?
I don’t understand C10. Is it Satan?
C10 Case Fresh pretty much means a toy is in perfect condition and unopened.
I’ll let you flail for the metaphor in that yourself.
So, Willis, now that you’re big, have you specced trying to get action figures? It’d be epically apropos for some of your characters.
He did/does sell figures. Though I guess they might be a bit too brittle for any serious kind of “action”.
I love the last panel they’re just so self aware.
Wrong answer, Danny. Here, let me fix that for you:
– “The same thing we do every night, Joe. Try to take over the world.”
OH GOD, THEY’VE NOTICED THE READERS! THE FOURTH WALL IS BREAKING! RUN!
Nah, we’ve still got about four months.
When was this written in relation to the rest of the comic? Is this the first time Joyce is described as “churchy” as if it’s something distrinctive?
Ah, history’s greatest abomination of writing: The “As You Know…” dialogue.
But on the bright side they don’t look so chunky anymore. Hooray evolution!
