He wouldn’t study the course material to prepare for an exam. He’d study the university’s security systems to figure out how to break into the prof’s office/computer.
Yeah, Kirk at the Academy was serious and studious, and Ruth is entirely correct about what he would do in Howie’s place. On the other hand, he wasn’t a captain at that point, so if she’s to be taken literally, yes, Captain Kirk is less uptight and more inclined to do things like jump out windows, though I don’t think we ever see him express an attitude towards studying one way or the other.
What with the punching dudes, the cavalier disregard for the rules, and the seducing the hottest girl in the vicinity, it seems to me that Ruth’s got “What Would Kirk Do?” down.
Never met a Star Trek fan in real life that didn’t like both of the Captains, just on the interwebs. Myself, I like them both, got into Trek just before TNG aired, but before TNG Spock was my favorite, then Data, so the Captains were always “Number twos” for me in a way. So.. ranking today..: Data, Spock, Picard, Kirk
Ruth will say anything to get her brother to study.
Kirk probably wouldn’t study, but PICARD would.
I’ve never SEEN an episode of Star Trek, yet I know that. I question how I know that. The only thing I can think of is INTERNET OSMOSIS!
Kirk would so study.
He wouldn’t study the course material to prepare for an exam. He’d study the university’s security systems to figure out how to break into the prof’s office/computer.
Fraud: more fun than studying for exams!
At first, I misread “the university’s” as “the universe’s”. Kinda made sense, too.
Then he’d study Spock’s hand movements to learn his password for the Kobyashi computer.
What if he studied STAR TREK
ooooo
So do most big sisters interested in making brothers do something they don’t want to do. Been there, done that
Yeah Kirk studied, mostly on how to bend the rules.
And how to bend alien hotties.
Hiyooooo!
Remember all those times on Star Trek when Kirk escaped to safety by jumping out the widow of the Enterprise?
I do I do!
I feel like a lot of people forget Kirk was once described as a walking library.
I can appreciate the wonder of this gravatar.

Kirk studied alright. But he only studied two things:
1) The green-pigment-skinned ladies
2) How to hack the Kobayashi Maru
Little (or widely) known fact: Kirk was a sexual vegan.
I feel like there are very few things Kirk wouldn’t do.
What about something he didn’t want to do.

DOA or this Ruth in about twenty or so strips?
Wait, when did Ruth seduce Joyce?
Unless we’re counting personality instead of just physical attractiveness, in which case…
Wait, when did Ruth seduce Dina?
Ruth, you should have gone with Spock.
Based on what I’ve seen of TOS so far, Kirk would punch something/try and seduce something/take his shirt off…in ANY situation.
*sighs while reading the comments*
You can’t willfully break the rules if you don’t know what they are.
Kirk would study alright, the best way to cheat.
know your audience Ruth. Howard is a Picard guy so he wouldnt care what Kirk would do.
He likes Spock, so he at least watches TOS. Maybe he defies convention and likes both Kirk and Picard.

I’m one of those shunned weirdos that favors Riker.
He’ll most likely just blankly stare at the book as his mind goe off to a new world.
Captain Kirk was a bloody intellectual, of course he’d study. If Howard doesn’t get that then he didn’t get Star Trek.
