From July 22 – 27, 2002, I had a guest strip week! Josh Phillips of the webcomic Avalon (the best) filled in for me, accomplishing so many things, the greatest of which is Walky’s “SKEEBALL! face” in the final strip, which is a term I use to this day to describe the double-thumbs-up manic-grin I often deploy in my own art AND LIFE. Where are you, Josh Phillips? I love you and I miss you.
These are amazing.
Oh man, I loved Avalon! “See-lid” and gang were wonderful. It’s a damn shame that Josh suffered from crippling depression. One can only imagine what great things he would be up to today if he had been able to keep writing/drawing. :'(
I half-jokingly told my wife our third child, if a girl, would be named Ceilidh.
Hey, the first one starts with A and the second one starts with B so C continues the pattern.
I can always say she’s named after Kaylee in Firefly and I just misspelled it.
Proof that the sequel CAN eclipse the original. I always loved this guest week and I’m sad to learn Josh Phillips vanished, I hadn’t known
Josh is a great guy. I wish I knew he was ok.
I had heard a rumor that David was going to draw the final chapter of Avalon for Josh, and always felt that would have been a FANTASTIC way to end Avalon. Whaddya say, David, got a couple free months? (j/k)
http://www.avalonhigh.com, HIGHLY recommended.
Damn, I miss Josh Phillips, too.
Beyond his Google+ page, last updated in 2015? Yeah.
My stepson makes tea like Jason.

Sequentially, of course.
He didn’t vanish. He still pops up every now and again, last time I saw him he was doing Steven Universe fanart on Tumblr; that was just within the last year.
