Also,
Yay! We’re getting to the morally questionable content of whether chemically altering someone against their will to be more acceptable to society is ethical.
Nope. People can be so heinous that they need to be locked away from society for the rest of their lives. Some even lose the ability to be considered human IMO and need to be put down like rabid dogs*. But we don’t torture rabid dogs**, because we’re better than that. We have to be, for this to be a society humans can live in. Brainwashing is a step beyond torture. Never acceptable.
*Which is a different debate.
**I know, Bush. Again, lets not go there right now.
Maybe its just me but alcohol has a strong taste and the thought of getting someone drunk against their will sounds a bit out there. It always felt to me that Mike tasted the alcohol and just allowed it to happen. This Dina is pretty daft so him allowing her to get him drunk was probably just all part of the plan.
Willis will not say “hats off to you!” if your boyfriend gets blasted on “tea” you brewed. Especially if you’re at work in the lab. Even one glass wall be grounds for firing if your employer catches you.
I had been wondering when, during my original read through, I stopped feeling sorry for Dina. Now I remember why I started to dislike her. It took my a while to warm up to DOA Dina, but nowadays I’m used to the difference.
So far, I’ve been struck by how… Mike-Lite Walky Mike is compared to Shortpacked! Mike. Mike talks a good game but hasn’t really done anything that bad to anyone. Whereas SP Mike definitely finds the way to hurt people to their core. Maybe this storyline is the turning point on that?
There was that one time a while ago when Mike kicked a literal toddler at a post-9/11 peace protest in order to “prove” that the protesters were hypocrites.
good old X X X brand alcohol, your first choice for chemically-encouraged bad decisions
You might think that’s top shelf “X X X” brand alcohol, but what her hand is concealing is that it’s actually just the off brand “X X.”
So it’s Dos Equis?
I don’t drink alcohol, ever. But when I don’t, it’s…
Oh this is going to be fun. I hope though Dina doesn’t get hurt.
Dina !? I’m worried for Mike, Dina does not have good intentions here.
She doesn’t but she’s not as tough as the rest of the agents. If Mike sees that she’s trying to get him drunk she’ll be in trouble.
True, I just look back on this and think to myself “What if she kills him with alcohol poisoning with all the liquor she’s about to force feed him ?”
I’m sure that drink’s the best tea could do.
…and so, Dina inadvertently rediscovers the Long Island Iced Tea.
Nah, there’s no actual tea in long island iced tea.
It’s a tea in spirit. Or spirits, whichever comes first.
Besides, Dina wouldn’t tell Mike what’s IN the ‘tea,’ anyway…

“Altering someone against their will” Nope, no moral question there, that’s wrong.
Which leads to a question of then it’s not okay to alter the worst of us to be more sociable people?
(Yes, yes, I know the answer, but it’s fun to twist logic sometimes.)

What about chemical castration for sex offenders?

It’s certainly possible to mix drinks that are strong, but hide the taste of the alcohol. Rotgut in tea is not one of those ways.
As for the moral question – In general no, but this is Mike. You can’t really apply serious moral questions.

This is some under handed shit girl.
Oooo boy, this is going to be “fun”.
I’m sure this will end well.
Willis does not recommend offering your boyfriend tea?
Of course not, it is a boring, impractical drink.
Willis will not say “hats off to you!” if your boyfriend gets blasted on “tea” you brewed. Especially if you’re at work in the lab. Even one glass wall be grounds for firing if your employer catches you.
If your boyfriend wants tea, then your boyfriend is probably Jason. And that’s not going to end well.
No Dinah no… sigh…
I don’t always spike my boyfriend’s tea, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.
I had been wondering when, during my original read through, I stopped feeling sorry for Dina. Now I remember why I started to dislike her. It took my a while to warm up to DOA Dina, but nowadays I’m used to the difference.
See this is where she basically diverges completely and permanently from anything resembling DOA Dina
Oh boy, here we go. To anyone who’s ever asked me why I hate Walkyverse Dina, this storyline is my answer.
I just thought I’d point out that the huge banner ad for LARGE TACO PIZZA across the top of this page is … unfortunate … product placement.
Butt tacos?

Fair point, I’d forgotten that.
I still love Dina, but… this… is not one of her more intelligent or moral choices.
(sigh)
Bad Choices: The Relationship Simulator, by Mike Warner and Dina Sarazu. Don’t worry; they both made enough bad choices for everyone to share.
Dina what are you doing
No
Stop that
