Willis, was that intentional? I mean, the way the censoring is indicative of your still being partly in the closet about the fact you knew people swore?
The comic had at least by this point already acknowledged the existence of gay people (I recall Walky mentioning to Joe a while back that Daisy was a lesbian, among other things), but jury’s still out on whether or not this was intentional.
I know that years later, Joe will use the “Robin flirts with gender-bent Joyce” as evidence that she was in denial about her sexuality back then, but I can’t tell if that was intentional either.
If it’s not intentional, then it’s some of the best unwitting imagery / young Willis subconscious superpowers at work. Like that time furry Danny wanted furry Joyce to help him bury his giant bone.
…was “Robin is hiding in the closet” intentional foreshadowing here?

I too am wondering if Robin being in the closet in this strip was intentional hinting at her later relationship with Leslie.

They’re abs-olutely f-ab-ulous, Robin.
You could bounce a Quarter off them…I’m sorry what were we talking about?
