When I started reading Shortpacked!, I could never figure out why Robin had to have her last name in the tags. Is it to differentiate her regular self from her senator self? Was there some minor character named Robin that popped up first in Roomis!/It’s Walky! that I don’t recall?
I would’ve pegged Robin as one of the people “not recruited by SEMME” as of this story, but she’s already wearing her favorite shirt and it seems to have the distinctive SEMME stripe. I guess she spent more time bouncing around the organization before getting into Squad 128 than I thought. Then again, she was a teenage runaway, so they might’ve found her pretty early.
I could have forgotten or overlooked something, but I think this revision is the first time we’ve had it spelled out that Dina’s skill set was an Alien enhancement. It sure makes sense (they kept her at the computers and her final hours made it clear she had no physical powers to speak of), but I remember thinking of it as just a natural aptitude. (If it turns out that was in the original strips, I guess I’ll have to accept that I can’t remember things I read a decade ago with perfect clarity.)
DINA 8D
…
DINA D8
Who is “Robin DeSanto”? *Clicks tag*
Meh, only one appearance. She’s probably not important.
And Hooper! Hooper makes an appearance!
…Well, you two already took the good ones.
hey fuck you man
She looks like she was in the middle of eating a taco when she fell over

Then it dawned on me… Batman and Robin.
Oh hey Robin
Pretty sure you weren’t even created yet at this point
Ah well
She looks so sad with her eyes o_o’d like that.
Somehow, though, Joe just looks silly.
Joe’s unaffected by the device. That’s just his O-Face.
Oh shit! Retroactive first appearance of Robin!
No last name for Mandy?
… I thought she was Walkyverse David Willis until I checked the tags.
Need to come up with one.
Torey.
Kahn. Just because.
He made more than one speedster ?
If he made like fifty people with just strength why only one speedster?
Everyone forgets Jim.
ROBIN!!!!
Yay Robin! ^^
… slightly less yay for mind-controlled Robin.
Oh, wait, more yay for accidental les-yay reference.
I love Head Alien’s speeches. They’re always so grand, even when they’re ridiculous.
Well, if you’re going to be as ineffective a villain as HA ends up you gotta have something to compensate. He at least talks a good game.
He always talks a good game.
He’s a good game talker
It’s the gloat we’ve been waiting fourteen and a half years for!
Now that’s a proper gloat!

Dina’s abductee abilities were never spelled out in the comics before, merely explained in the comments/forum.
Hell, if you missed a couple panels you’d think she was just another ordinary person like Jason or Proffesor Doc.
wait, so what were they?
Her placement on the page seems to imply her power is to be a savant, going by this page.
Is it just me or does the one abductee look like Willis?
Willis is a character within his own universe and appears several times, including the final battle against the Martians. So yes.
The tags identify that one as Mandy, though.
Still looks like him, which was the question. And now we must live with the knowledge she looks like Willis. XD
Only if he’s wearing spaghetti straps.
The one above Joe? I think that’s a woman.
Just reading this again, and that is one hell of a megalomaniacal monologue.
Robin!? Aren’t you in the wrong comic? This isn’t Shortpacked!
Oh hey Joe, it’s been a while.
Not sure if joking or not. If not: She started here. That’s how she recognized Mike, and was freaked out by him because .
Ergh, it thought it was weird HTML and ate it. Should’ve ended with [Spoilers].
This looks like it was drawn by the guy who did “Fans!”
i mean, i did draw some Fans!, so
I always love it when adaptations add in earlier appearances for characters who hadn’t been created yet, weaving them into continuity better.
Especially when that character is Robin.
