If you don’t mind me asking, what motivated the return to classic, horrible asshole Mary later on in IW? She seems to be at least willing to acknowledge she was awful to Danny and Billie, but then with Sal she’s back to being the actual worst person ever.
Academic future?….OK I had to go back almost all the way to the beginning of this story to figure out what his plans are. He said he’d be “interning at some random place.” I guess it would be a bad idea to put that on hold?
Oh right, Billie does follow him to Denver later on.
And wouldn’t you know it, it makes her fucking miserable because she feels unappreciated and later on Danny dans it up so hard we need to invent a new term because ‘danning’ doesn’t quite cut it for what he does in that storyline.
Billie and Danny made it work by the end, but they went through a lot of bullshit.
I dunno, watching Billie suddenly go down the exact same path Sal did (the aliens, the superpowers, the angst, the retroactive dead parents backstory) would be pretty hilarious.
… I’m still bewildered about how people complain about people being upset with things like, say, watching their parents get killed in front of them as being “angsty”, with the apparent indication that it’s somehow bad or wrong. Sal does some terrible things over the course of the comic, but she has a hell of a good reason to be as “angsty” as she is.
Mary stop being reasonable.
You’re supposed to be an asshole.
Don’t worry. After her next appearance in IW! proper, you’ll be able to hate her again. 😛
mary classic returns

I guess she holds onto character development like a wet fish.
Ok here’s a plan, don’t move away and just stick around till she graduates.
Because putting his academic future on hold for his love life will never backfire on Danny.

Relevant to this discussion.
He does that later anyway and it’s better for Billie to put education and her career on hold for the same reason?

he WILCOXED IT UP
Ooooooooooh, Danny. You’re always a treat, you are.
and that’s what it would sound like if danny’s life was jason’s favorite sitcom

I think that one girl losing her “parents” to aliens is enough to provide the drama.
Actually, I think it’d be interesting to see her go through that and not end up and angsty douchebag like Sal.

You know, I remember asking for a character redemption of Mary years ago in this site… so… thank you?
You know you’re in the wrong when Mary comes off as the good guy.
