Swallow the bitter pill of betrayal!
on November 27, 2020 at 1:01 amChapter: This Man-- This Manhattan
Location: Shortpacked!
Here we are back at the Shortpacked! store. Hope you folks enjoyed our quick detour with these guys. You’ll see them a couple more times before these reruns end, but only once more in a Shortpacked!-styled capacity. Especially Leslie.
Yes, Shortpacked!, the wacky zany world where only Robin is silly enough to not recognize Amazi-Girl is Amber in a mask, while in the more down-to-earth world of Dumbing of Age, nearly nobody manages to wise up to it unless specifically provoked!
Robin vs. Honeybun would have been pretty amusing to see.
Like one of those Pepe le Pew cartoons where he’s the one who ends up getting pursued by Penelope Pussycat in the end. Honeybun rampages into town, then rampages right back out chased by Robin with a knife and fork in hand and napkin tucked under her chin.
I was going to say, wouldn’t that be a short fight? Ending with Robin with an extended stomach?
I’ve spent enough time reading DOA that I’d almost forgotten that everyone except Robin can recognize this world’s Amazi-girl.
One of my favorite running gags in Shortpacked is that Robin somehow thinks Amber’s superhero secret identity is Spider-Car. Even though they have a sentient car who works at the store, and Amber looks nothing like a car.
“Amber looks nothing like a car.”
that’s why it’s the perfect disguise
Exactly!
Mike is right: There is too little sanity in anyone’s to waste on trying to deprogram Robin into something approaching recognising objective reality.
I think you mean consensus reality. Objective reality is so weird no-one would recognize it.
Yeah, I like Mike here.
“I’m Mike, I hate everything.”
“Okay, this is weird even for Robin.”
“I’m out of here, losers.”
Don’t be jealous Amber, we all know Robin has the sweetest ta-ta’s.
Robin also has a hashtag to prove it.
And of course the ironic part is Robin could have easily used her superspeed to join in the fight, but it never occurred to her.
Let’s just say it’s for our mental safety that Mike and amber encountered him
Oh, it’s *you*[/Oblivion NPC]
You know, at exactly 24 pages (I think I counted right) this is pretty much exactly the right length to be an issue of a comic book. Was that intentional?
“Especially Leslie.”
WFWOOOSH!
