She’s what?
on May 14, 2018 at 12:01 amChapter: By Any Other Name
Characters: Britjas, David Walkerton, Guns, Jason Chesterfield, Joyce Brown, Mandy Kowalski, Sal Walters, Sierra Snow
Location: Transparent Steel Chamber
Walky tries to swear, but fails. Sal also tries to swear, and… well, she technically fails, too, but only in a meta sense.
It’s Walky!: Where we refuse to say “fuck” but we’ll definitely punch all the blood out of somebody’s face.
Meanwhile, Joyce is all
I like how no one seems to be taking Walky’s statement at face value.
The real question is “What the fuck is up with Joyce’s arms?”
She’s falling apart, man!
I think it’s actually pretty decent anatomy (she was holding on to Jason’s shirt but then tore herself away), but the first time I looked at it, I thought she was doing the anime ninja run.
Her left arm seems to be about twice as long as her right.
Due to her hair, it’s difficult to see. But we see her right arm on top (in almost full length), palm towards the ground and her left lower arm below, palm towards us. (Her left upper arm is covered behind her torso, because she’s holding it in front of her chest. We can only see her left shoulder.)
Panel 3: On one hand everyone seems to be reluctant to listen to the Renegade who tried to kill or let everyone die multiple times but on the other hand everyone there is just as callus for just letting Walky nearly kill another agent and then just stand around with there heads up Their asses and just watch the rest of it play out.
My thoughtson on this is pretty just everyone in SEMME is the biggest asshole and there’s very little camaraderie to gour around.
I’m pretty sure that they’re mostly all mentally disturbed on several levels as a result of what’s been done with them. Their responses are not those of mentally or emotionally healthy people.
Also, it’s Mike that’s being punched, and you know they’ve all wanted to at one time or another.
So if Joyce is Padme, and Walky is Anakin, then who’s Obi-Wan?
Better question who’s Palpatine ?
Mostly I just want to know who has the high ground. Though I’d like to know who’s Palpatine too.
I think it’s obvious HA is Palpatine, for a few reasons.
“Ever hear the tragedy of Darth Walkerton the unwise?”
What about Jar Jar? Surely one of them is Jar Jar?
Mike is a youngling!
Professor Doc Kenobi?
Hm, Yuengling
I suspect that it will be some time before Joyce is able to be around Walky and feel safe.
I mean, Joyce is *already* a murderer, so…. I feel like it’s more “you’re going down a path I want to pretend to myself that I can’t follow you down!!”
Like, I know the self mindwipe bullshit followed that episode, but. SERIOUSLY. Joyce is as bad as the rest of them on the 0-to-psycho on a dime scale.
I just realized that Dina’s final internal monologue actually settles the blame game. Walky “especially” hates her above everyone else there, and Mike “never really liked” her. It seems obvious who wounded her more deeply.
If we’re going to look more literally, Mike contributed to the feelings with which she died, but things would have played out the same without that story. Walky dismissively refused her help and sent her running off to the lab in a highly agitated state. No telling what would have happened if she had stayed to help, but it definitely wouldn’t have been what did happen.
