I might be leaning too heavily on the “ooh this romantic couple is being passive aggressive” stuff, but I still really like this one. I like to think Joyce is speedily crafting the pie chart off-camera during panel two. Either that or she just keeps a pie chart that says “PARK BENCH” with her at all times. Maybe Walky does this a lot. But pie charts are funny, dammit. They’re almost Oversized Comedy Props.

Is it just me or is this one much higher resolution than most of the other Joyce & Walky! strips? I’m not complaining, mind, I just think it’s interesting.

‘Greasy fingers smearing shabby clothes’ certainly sounds like Walky’s eating habits.
I could buy that there are plenty of opportunities for her to use this.
While I’ve never been in a romantic relationship, I have been in the position of trying to explain a TV show to somebody who knows everything I do because they were watching it as well.
I’m sure Walky is as delighted as I am that it’s possible to “go back” these days, thereby at least meaning an end to the situation when they ask you to explain the bit you missed because you were explaining the previous bit.

Haha, this one really stuck with me because I think of it whenever I’m watching a movie with friends or family that ask this.
