i love head alien’s intermittent genre awareness and common sense, one minute he’ll be expertly conniving to use the heroes’ angst and backstories against them, the next he’ll be building a giant robot monkey with like six points of articulation
This is it, this is the last page in the storyline. Man this ended abruptly.
This “episode” feels like a waste. It should have been all about Squad 128’s desperate scramble to save the day while the grim possibility of failure and death becomes more and more real.
Instead we get everyone whining about a danger that really doesn’t seem to exist (despite that fact that it really should exist).
This might be the biggest ball dropped in the comic.
Once again, Head Alien’s incompetent ass is saved by the incompetence of SEMME. Wile E. Coyote can never catch the Roadrunner, and the Roadrunner can never truly kill Wile E. Coyote.
All of those things were instigated by the Coyote. RR did nothing. In all those cartoons, the cause of Wile E Coyote’s suffering is Wile E Coyote. One of Chuck Jones’s rules for the cartoons was “The Road Runner cannot harm the Coyote except by going “beep beep”.
HA is forever ‘Nothing can stop us now” quoiting, and that old stand-by, explaining his motives while the hero’s use that time to get out of their predicament.
Love Rycan comparison to Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner – very apt.
how could they not hear all of that angsting going on
Too busy practicing the raging monster face?
A good entrance is everything.
Well, rest in pieces MM,you might not have been the most obedient, but gave hell of a show. You even went out with a bang.
Top bad you weren’t built smaller, Monkey Master :P. I’m sure the added agility would have helped.

Head Alien probably didn’t stuff him with skin sensors, eh.

I’m surprised that someone normally as genre-savvy as the Head Alien would use a disaster-trigger phrase like “Nothing can stop us now!” so casually!
I’d like to think the explosives were voice-activated by that very phrase.

I’m pretty sure the Roadrunner enjoyed tormenting Wile E. too much to kill him. In which case, HA would be the Roadrunner. Funny how that works out.
Wile E Coyote has been blown up, dropped of a cliff, run over and a million other things. Meep Meep actually means “Why won’t you die!”

How many of SEMME’s problems are self-caused, though?
“I have to kill the monkeys!!”
“No Jason, you are the monkeys”
Then Jason was a poop-thrower

It’s MY LIFE
MY DREAM
Nothing’s gonna stop me now
