Man, that last panel expression does NOT sell Joyce’s bulletproof cuteness — and thus the punchline. I had to fight myself from redrawing it. It’s that bad.
Do remember, Joyce was completely mind-wiped in between those periods – though she later got her memories back, it was once mentioned that they literally had to teach her how to breathe again after her self-inflicted mindwipe.
Be… cause the smile NOT being that adorable and cute is, in fact, the reason for Sal’s punchline? That’s why he didn’t redraw. If it sold the cuteness successfully, arguably it’d undercut the punchline.
I mean, I think it’d still work as a punchline, but I see why Willis fought himself on that one and landed on the side he did.
Joyce is channeling Faz in the last panel.
*Woah*, those are some strong words!
Wow, not sure how but I got a huge Meredith vibe for a sec
I wonder whether Joyce gets her smile from Carol or Hank. Just imagine either with the Triangle Smile.
I’d rather not have the image of Carol with that triangle smile in my head.
There’s not enough bleach in the world to clean that mental image.
It’s Stalky.
Stalky and Walky!
My brain is really not reconciling Early Roomies Joyce and Late IW Joyce well.

Why not redraw, though? You’ve done it before, haven’t you?
