Actually I had an ex who once asked, “Are you SURE you didn’t ask to be born? What if you were the twinkle in your dad’s eye that made your mom want to have you?”
Like, admittedly my feelings on Carol here are probably colored at least somewhat by the moral vacuum that is her alternate counterpart, but the way she talks about already having “grandmother senses” here like she’s trying to will kids into existence? The way she has literally attempted to force Joyce into having sex multiple times despite her clearly being uncomfortable with it?
At least with Galasso the grandkid stuff was just part of (what I assume is) his Ra’s-al-Ghul schtick
She also attempted to sabotage Joyce and Walky’s birth control! And by ‘attempted’ I mean ‘succeeded but got caught.’
This is still somehow the slightly-less-awful version of Carol Brown, but that’s like saying Walkyverse Blaine is the marginally less awful one. The bar is somewhere around the Earth’s core and they still barely passed it.
It’s amazing how two different incarnations of Carol Brown can both be so unlikeable. She is apparently an awful person no matter what universe she’s in.
When I was young I found Carol’s “must have grandkids at all costs”. Now that I’m older and have several friends who have had multiple miscarriages I find that it’s aged really badly.
(But that’s a also a general problem with society. “I assume you want kids” and “I assume that if you want kids you will immediately succeed”.)
Walkyverse!Carol can sense when her entitlements* are being stolen away from her
*by which I do mean the human being(s) she thinks she deserves to have ripped into existence without consulting their feelings on the matter
I see and agree with your point, but then it’s not like anyone gets asked if they want to be born.

(something like that, I wasn’t really listening)
Agreed, as well as Joyce’s and Walky’s feelings.
Good ol’ Carol Brown…
…How I hate her.

Hate her in both universes, though Walkyverse Carol is slightly less terrible than her Dumbiverse counterpart.
Props for the Peanuts reference!

Joyce does not owe you grandchildren, Carol. Get over yourself.

“…found Carol’s behaviour amusing”, that should say.
Yeah, a lot of child birth books and stuff won’t say this, but about 20-25% of all known pregnancies end in miscarriage.
And that’s the numbers for KNOWN pregnancies, it’s estimated that it could be as high as half if we factor in cases where it’s too early to know.
The earlier in the pregnancy, the higher the chance of miscarriage, the Human womb is not a kind place.
I’m sure he’ll be back eventually!
Eventually…
