I wonder where Leslie would have been at this point, timeline-wise? Do you think she saw any of this on TV? It suddenly occurs to me that what with her being introduced more or less as a prop for a gag, we never actually see her and Robin’s first meeting!
Sal subscribes to the X-COM “friends you’ve known forever brainwashed for like five minutes need to get gunned down IMMEDIATELY to stop the threat” strategy, huh
Honestly, Sal WAS trying to bring their parents back at one point, wasn’t she? And then that failed. If Sal hadn’t been so, you know, Sal, and Beef hadn’t been so, you know, Beef, and they’d actually sat down and talked about it, it’s entirely possible he wouldn’t have gone evil and needed to die.
Plus it would’ve just brought more angst post-reveal that she killed her baby-swapped sorta-adoptive brother.
It’s been too long since I read — I thought Beef was upset over being ignored in favor of the other Walkerton siblings. (Which gets kinda meta, if you think about it)
SEMME itself is pretty X-COM in quite a few ways aside from that, too– fighting aliens, concealing the aliens’ existence as well as SEMME’s own, and reverse-engineering captured enemy technology to use against that same enemy.
SEMME’s average rookie life expectancy is probably a fair bit longer than X-COM’s daily “Whatsyername, NOOOOOOOO!” though.
Seems like Sal wasn’t totally unsympathetic in the first strip. Just more open about it now. Don’t think she liked doing in teammates, not a lot of choice.
Hi Robin.
Bye Robin.
Yay Robin! ^^
Wanna see her run to that mountain and back?

I just now remembered “oh, right, the TV cameras were destroyed and nobody saw anything.” Never mind.

As it turns out [SPOILER ALERT] killing Beef at this point would have saved us all some heartache later on.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeh.
(Grunt.)
Ya because [NOTHER SPOILER ALERT STOP READING KNOW] we won’t see much of him till he gets killed off anyway.
Now
Okay, sure, just kill off ALL the characters to save the heartache of Drama Tag later on! It’s the George R.R. Martin way!
Every time someone asks Willis to redraw the rest of It’s Walky!, he’ll kill off another fan-favorite?

Probably a bit of column A, a bit of column B.

Walky WAS Panicked and hunkering Down, tho
Are we talking original series, or Enemy Unknown? (Which is a call-back to the original X-Com’s original title, “UFO: Enemy Unknown)
I’m waiting for a very special moment in this arc just so I can mock Sal.
Throw her some candy and hope for the best Jason!!! D:
Sal: More or less sympathetic in the redraw? Personally I’m divided.
She’s the same to me.
I find her less “cute” in the redraw, less “badass” and more “psychotically unhinged”.
Beef’s USDA grade has gone from “Prime” to “Choice.”
ha i’m such a fucking dorkSeems like Sal wasn’t totally unsympathetic in the first strip. Just more open about it now. Don’t think she liked doing in teammates, not a lot of choice.
Holy crap…
Walky will never forgive you for this…
