Interesting commentary

Characters: COAS dean, Joyce Brown
Location: Indiana University
A dean of the College of Arts and Sciences should probably understand that you can be smart while also being dumb about particular things. Even the geniuses among us have weird blindspots of irrationality. Of course, Joyce is being entirely correct here, but that’s beside the point.
It is highly likely that an idiot savant will be completely insane but know how to do standardized tests LIKE A BOSS
“So is this a joke, or are you insane?”
“I take offence to that second-last one!”
Years later, he sees her on TV and pulls out a drink.
I wonder how much revision this class had to do to the syllabus after that whole Public Martian Invasion thing.
I remember, once, my family and I went to a mars themed restaurant. Something like Mars 20xx or similar. All Mars themed, but no aliens, that I can remember. I wonder if here they added a tiny statue at the entrance.
Mars 2112. There were aliens, particularly Captain Orion and QT Pi.
I know because I worked there.
That’s where that whole Sal story in J&W! came from then?
(I was going to say B-story, but it wasn’t interspersed with anything else. It feels like a very Simpsons B-story sort of plot, I guess.)
That… is… awesome!
I guess everything is connected after all.
I find that sometimes, insanity is a matter of perspective.
Gee, the dominionist young-earth creationist with a 3.8 GPA might be compartmentalizing? Who knew?
Joyce is entirely correct, and also insane.
Honestly is there anybody in this verse that ISN’T insane?
Sarah, perhaps?
Girl with ponytail that isn’t Billie is fit as a fiddle.
hmmmmmmm, nope.
The janitor in the final arc seemed to have it pretty well together…
It *is* a joke – from the alien’s viewpoint.
I think this might be the point where I start to love Joyce.
there’s a little bit of the first one
Man, you have no idea how insane…
I disagree, sir
I always thought Ben Stein was this really incredibly smart and awesome guy. And then I saw a VHS tape at the rental store with him talking about Intelligent Design. “Ha! Awesome!” I thought to myself; “He’ll certainly skewer them! This will be great!”
And then I flipped it over, and read the back, and realizing he was arguing for it.
And then I put the box back on the shelf, and went home, and never watched “Win Ben Stein’s Money” again. The end.
oh lord, I remember when he put out that “Expelled!” movie. it was right at the tail end of my fundie days, so I never had the misfortune of actually watching it.
