It was at that moment that Sal realized that Jason is a top.
In the previous strip, we get to see the available main characters standing dramatically in a group, but in today’s, I have Agatha peeking in from the right hand side of the first panel, as if to say “oh and also all the remaining nobodies are also here, etc.”
Jason in the DoA-verse should invest in a turtleneck and a trenchcoat, he pulls it off.
Doncha mean a tactleneck?
There’s a reason that my wife’s M&M version of Joyce ended up with Jason. He’s an eloquent badass. And yes, pulls off that turtleneck wonderfully.
This universe’s Jason is so much better than DoA Jason.
Sal is making plans for the aftersex.
Jason has always been my favorite character in the Walkyverse, and strips like these are kind of the reason why. He’s essentially an outsider everywhere he goes, both because he’s seen as a foreigner by his friends and because he literally cannot go back home, and he constantly cannot be with the woman he loves… and yet he is always willing to fight, willing to stand up and defend these people (who in some cases treat him very poorly) and do what needs to be done.
Now I do like DoA Jason (for different reasons) but I always kind of felt like something was lost in translation, possibly because of his more tertiary role in the story. I kind of wonder if there’s more room to explore any of his more positive traits. His story so far has kind of boiled down to making mistake after mistake (even with good intentions). Of course that could also be the point, but I do miss his Walkyverse moments of determination and strong will.
Jason reminds me of Batman, in the sense that he has no powers, he fights alongside demigods, and he pulls his weight regardless.
