Hamburger Helper now comes in microwaveable packets!
on March 19, 2020 at 12:01 amChapter: Company Car
Characters: David Walkerton, Joyce Brown
Location: grocery store, Joyce and Walky's apartment
god that stuff was rank
imagine re-hydrated tiny meatballs the size of rat poos
did he try it again tho
like, my boss:
Boss: “EEW, this is GROSS” *throws lunch in the trash*
Co-worker: “Why did you get that AGAIN?”
Boss: “Again??”
Co-worker: “YES, you got that LAST time and hated it THEN, too!”
Boss: “Why didn’t you tell me??”
Co-worker: “I thought you knew!!”
I’d like to say that Walky Walkerton learned his lesson here, but somehow I doubt it.
Mistakes were made, no lessons were learned
I get the feeling Walky is going to try eating something like that again.
Is easy Mac some instant ver. Of Mac & cheese?
Yes.
Yes it is.
You take 2/3 cup of water and pour it in a bowl with a pre-packaged amount of elbow macaroni.
You place it in the mircrowave for around 3 minutes.
When you remove it, the macaroni is cooked (often overcooked) and the remaining “water” is a off-white sludge.
Into that you pour a yellow powder. You stir it, causing the yellow power and the white sludge to combine into yellow goo.
You then serve it to your children.
Kids fuckin love it for reasons I cannot comprehend. But it is also a minimal effort dinner, so… life hack?
It’s the macaroni and cheese version of instant ramen, but it doesn’t even come out that well. There are always half-reconstituted cheese dust clumps left, and the noodles never cook all the way.
If you’re tired, hungry, or hung over enough, you can almost convince yourself it’s just al dente store brand mac and cheese.
Man, Kraft’s American branch just can’t not screw up KD. First they change the name, then they apparently botch Easy Mac, which doesn’t have any of those issues, here. :p
Joyce knows her boyfriend a bit too well, it seems.
I can imagine her lines in that last panel being delivered in a sing-song voice and rolling eyes as she finishes preparing her tasty dinner.
I mean…regular Hamburger Helper kinda sucks anyway.
OK, but Easy Mac is good though.
Or at least it was in college. I haven’t eaten it in almost a decade now.
Hmm.
It’s still something I would have thought Walky would like.
