Yeah, Joyce and Walky tend to work best when they’re both being complete goofballs. This strip just feels like the generic “idiot guy and long-suffering girl” sitcom couple.
Yeah, that’s why the pet store strip’s so great. You just know the giant owl heads and wings were their mutual ridiculousness egging each other on. They PLANNED for this. They had arts and crafts nights.
Right? I completely forgot about it from my first readthrough and then suddenly. Bam. Owl heads, as punishment for the hams shunning them last time. As you do.
I used to wonder why it did that.
Then I read that super glue was originally developed to be an instant wound closing agent – ie, it was made to close battle wounds – so the bonding instantly to skin and non-instantly to everything else was actually a feature not a bug.
Yup, it has been credited with saving many lives during the vietnam war. Ironically, it was developed to try and develop gun sights for the military during WWII, then was used to make aircraft canopies. Acetone (or acetone-based nail polish remover) will take that super glue off.
As a model building person, I have learned to keep a bottle of nail polish remover close at hand when building.
I’m not sure if I want to know why Walky’s fingers are glued together.
I mean, it’s Walky, so it’s best not to speculate.
