Declassified
on August 19, 2014 at 12:01 amChapter: Debriefing
Characters: Alan Rees, Anthony McHenry, David Walkerton, Jason Chesterfield, Joyce Brown, Professor Doc
Location: Alan's training room
These redrawn pages are just crammed with information that would have been nice to have been laid out plainly at the time!
Heh. Arrows.
I’m also wondering why Doc felt the need to write “Tech” on the board but not actually say or show anything about Alien tech.
CLEARLY “Tech” was the name of the alien he modeled the drawing off. Duh…
(Probably not.)
Less than a minute ago, it was a virus. Now it’s brainwashing.
Maybe it’s like a computer virus. But for brains.
Biological Sky net ?
Walky’s so useless. Bet he’ll never be the main character.
If that happen Joyce will become the strongest female character here, let’s face it Tony and Sal will be the main power couple forever am I right guys !
I’ve always kinda wanted more… strange powers.
We really only see,
Strength.
Durability.
Speed.
Tech control.
Intelligence.
All, more or less, standard super powers.
And yes, I am aware of how strange that sentence is.
Ya I was expecting something like super 6th sense or super quick calculation that comes from the super intelligence.
Well we did also see one guy having basically tasmanian devil power (spins really fast to hit stuff), and then there was that girl with guns that was extra proficient with them.
This could be explained by the fact that HA asked the kids what they wanted, and kids were prettz unimaginative.
But yes, main team’s skillset was quite boring, super strength and durability all around. What is worse in my opinion their power levels vary wildly as plot demands.
No, kids would come up with dumb shit like force-fields and invisibility. But I think it was established that unrealistic things like that were impossible…
Wait, no, that was just flying. I don’t know.
It makes sense that they would all be variations of the same thing, doesn’t it? Seems by far the most plausible result of Mr. Alien’s experimentation and augmentation. Bonus points for it being something that makes sense.
Head Alien must be sad. He’s missing out on all this exposition!
It’s a big deal to tell your agents a) things they already know and b) the most basic of sitreps? Good lord, SEMME is useless.
Eh. I get the primary purpose at this point for SEMME was to collect other abductees and keep them out of alien hands. This didn’t require much info other than, those purple smurfs are alliens, go wreck their shit.
Poor little Walky. He just wants to be near Joyce.
What’s he so sad about I thought he didn’t want to be part of the action.
I have to say, I know it’s dumb, and I see why the fourth wall break isn’t worth it, but one of the biggest things I miss from the original strips is the request for a synonym for “expert” that starts with “a,” and the subsequent use of “Alan the Alien Adept.”
“Alan the Alien Expert”, heh. More foreshadowing. The phrase doesn’t mean what you think it means.
So it is confirmed. Aliens use tech
Again why does no one notice that Sal the abductee was not brainwashed??
Or unconscious rather?
As far as anyone knows, Sal is not an abductee.
Really? She runs around like she owns the place….
