So were the Britjas a criminal organization in their home universe as well, or only after they entered the Walkyverse Prime? I never quite understood exactly why they had to leave– I knew the Cheese was after them, but I never got why.
Remind me of Jason’s deal? All of his family is from the other universe and was born there but his mother was still in labor as they crossed over – am I remembering that right?
Yep! And having another universe of origin gave the rest of the JFO an advantage – I don’t quite remember for sure, but I’m pretty sure the Cheese was unable to sense them or something similar. Jason being born just a smidge too late meant he’s native to this universe, doesn’t have that particular quirk, and was therefore deemed useless by his father. (Who is an unbelievable asshole for all that he appears in about two sequences in person, one of them being a posthumous flashback.)
For a moment it looked like the universe gave Jason a cocktail out of pity in the last panel, but then I realized it was his flashlight.
One of Jason’s lesser-known British Spy powers is that he can generate vodka martinis at will.
I’ve always loved Jason’s lampshading in this strip.

Where IS your gun, Joyce?
I mean, at least Joyce has demonstrated she has good aim. Headshots are difficult outside of video games.
With a gun like hers “aiming” is kinda relative.
Only Jason can take “you are tortured/attacked/murdered all over the multiverse” and present it as their fault.
Yeah, I’m really not sure why Jason is talking as if this sort of attention is a good thing.
He’s exactly at the other end of the spectrum. And he has always been.
