It does stretch credibility!
The best experiences are the ones no one believes when you tell the truth
usually
I feel like this strip, with both casts in one place for the first time, must have felt like such a big event to people who were reading at the time.
Whereas as someone who read DoA first it only feels natural for all of these characters to be in the same place at once.
pretty much.
Especially the looks on Danny’s face, if you remember DoA and assume he knows exactly who Walky’s talking about.
It’s a clever assortment of characters from all of the strips. We got Roomies, It’s Walky, and Shortpacked! all in the same room. To bad Ethan didn’t have a way to show up.
‘Then she tried to kill me.’
‘OK, that makes more sense.’
Oh come on out of all the shit that’s happened to him in his life how’s this the unbelievable part?
Joyce and Dina were weird enough that a third person being attracted to Walky, presumably a relatively-normal person, is just absurd.
“How the fuck do you always have, like, two good-looking girls who want you?”
Gotta come up with a more believable excuse: “The Taco Bell in the next town over had a limited time offer, and I got a flat tire.”
Joe’s mind: “If something like that could be possible and there was any justice in the world, it would happen to ME!”
She also had abductee superstrength and tried to kill him, but I wonder if that would make his explanation easier or harder to believe.
You’d think it might be worth mentioning.
“…tried to seduce me.”
“Bullshit.”
“Well, there was a fight between three supernaturals, someone threw a car, you know how it goes.”
“Okay, that I believe.”
Basically, it’s a superhero wedding. They should expect it to be interrupted by some villain’s plot.
Amber just standing back there thinking “Oh, do they work in a toy store too?”
