You and Joyce were on our ship for a routine checkup
on May 22, 2016 at 12:01 amThe day Joyce and Walky met as kids was sure an important day in the Walkyverse! I kept on going back and making it more and more important as time went on. Here’s step 2. We’d get step 3 a few years later during a SEMME invasion by certain Anglo-Saxon martial artists, and step 4 was in that flashback story with Ruth, were we find out that Walky’s abduction was one more pile of garbage on top of an already garbage day.
…it’s possible step 4 and step 3 should be swapped in order, but I don’t wanna go look up filedates or nothing right now because it’s like 4am as I write this. But anyway.
Walky, maybe don’t blame yourself too much for something you did as a young child. … Man, that was supposed to be comforting but it came out all lecture-y. I need to work on my Dad Voice.
I might be misremembering, but didn’t kid Walky go psycho beat them up mode after that?
I think that comes up later, but yeah.
Welp, at least there’s somebody in SEMME who knows how to think straight.
Yeah, but that it’s WALKY….
Walky actually can think fine when he wants to do so. He just doesn’t like responsibility and thinking is a responsibility.
Walky, you idiot, no! You have a frigging resurrection chamber! Hurting the Head Alien is not worth giving up the best tool you have to declaw him!
Not to mention that he’s literally dropping his brother’s parents on HA.
“…Walky? Where’d he go?”
TO THE DARK SIDE
Head Alien and the Martians hurt Joyce? They had better hope they never cross my path; payback will be both swift and sure.
The reason this line of attack is so effective is that Walky actively hates and resists “growing up,” so he really CAN’T say “I was a scared kid then” because drawing a line between the kid he was then and the twentysomething he is now would mean throwing out his core beliefs, and he’s got nothing to replace them with.
“IT’S TOO LATE FOR APOLOGIES.”
“Walky, you can’t blame Chromedome for everything!”
Ssssooooo… the recording that Walky easily identified as Joyce’s voice was from when they were.. four, I’m assuming? Kinda’ toddler-aged. So does this mean Joyce’s voice hasn’t changed at all since then, or is it implied that she’s naturally shrill?
He’s off to make a fart joke!
That line about falling into a pit long ago is kiiinda familiar.
And by kinda familiar I mean I’ve never even seen Mask of the Phantasm and I recognized it.
