Interesting. I automatically read it as WHAM! CRACK! KA-POW! YANK!
I mean, it makes sense in that the eye follows the white background, but I admit following the title’s sequence does make things make a bit more sense.
Only a bit, though. The YANK! panel still bothers me. How is HAII in any shape to try sneaking away?
Maybe she punched him with enough force that he went flying in one direction… but she didn’t want to have to chase after him (or give him a breather or opportunity to escape), so she snagged his cape.
Actually I feel like WHAM! CRACK! KA-POW! YANK! makes sense. Panel three she sends him flying, panel four she yanks him back. I guess we’ll never know.
YES CAPES otherwise how would Sal pull off that sweet punchbag move
Just no dangly things overall, really.
Who is HAII, anyway, Isidora Duncan?!
…TIL that two of the Quagmire triplets from ASOUE were collectively named after a real person, I guess?
Shit, this was meant to be a reply to Suet above.
Yeah, ASOUE is just LOADED with references and allusion names, it’s great.
If he had no cape, he’d have no style

(In-between panels two and three, before anyone points out that Sal’s making him one with the floor in panel two.)

GO SAL GO
This is reminding me of the fight scenes in the old Adam West Batman TV show.
Revenge of the Living Dead.
