Man, this flashback was pretty important to the rest of the strip, wasn’t it.  Like, the entire foundation of the back half of It’s Walky! is kind of built upon it.  Though, man, once you see the actual Martians at the very end, seeing Linda clock one easy-as-you-please really establishes her as some kind of amazing powerhouse superhero retroactively.  Yeah, I establish that the Martians have tentacles here, and four years later I had to incorporate that feature into the larger character model.  And I wanted to make them huge and scary, so the tentacles are really the tip of their anatomy’s iceberg.

David there is vaguely modeled after Austin Powers.  He didn’t have a last name until me having to give him one now, but guess what it is.
