Over in DOA, Dorothy wakes up. “I had the strangest dream. You were there, and you were there, and you were there, and that British bartender from Galasso’s was there for some reason…”
Come to think of it, the perspective in that strip always bugged me. Sarah and Billie are closer to Danny than Joyce and Joe are, but the latter two are on the bottom of the panel showing Danny’s field of vision and the former two are on the top. It should really look more like this.
What? No. In the image, the top 2 people should be Sarah & Billie, with Joe & Joyce at the bottom. What’s wrong is that Danny is shown sitting up, when the first image clearly shows 4 people looking down on a prone Danny. If he’s sitting up, then the shadows should all vertical and to the side of the panel, with Sarah and Billie partially blocking the body shapes of Joe & Joyce.
…huh. I think you’re right, actually. I’m not sure what made it look wrong to me? It might be that we see more of the bodies that are farther away from Danny, which looks kinda weird, but you’re definitely right that the lying-prone-vs-sitting-up thing is the real main issue with that strip. Unless it’s meant to represent him going from one position to the other, but that’s probably giving 1999!Willis too much credit.
It’s funny how Sal’s hair is SO thick that it completely blocks out all light. My hair is long and thick too but it would definitely let more light through it than the rest of my head does.
Yup, after a stomach pumping episode when my little brother had eaten some of grandpa’s model building glue, he had a distrust of doctors, and other people wearing lab coats, well into his adult life.
But what happened to
the mouseDorothy? She just… went back home. There’s no place like it!

Well, maybe the memory wipe should’ve happened here.
Now, to the others?
…I think that first panel is supposed to be an homage to Danny waking up in the hospital after Ruth’s death? Maybe? It doesn’t quite work as other homages since the number of people doesn’t match.
also the bandage makes panel 2 jason look like he has a soul patch

Sal’s hair is a wave of chocolate.
I hope this leads to more SalxJason smooshing.
It’s weird to see Jason and Sal in the same room and both smiling. That just doesn’t seem right to me.
“It was a nice dream. Lasted all of five minutes”
Just wait till your first trip to the hospital as a parent, Joyce. After the trip in which you become a parent, that is.
Nothing like holding a crying three year old down so the Doctor can put a stitch in their heads.
Being the three-year-old in that scenario sounds worse.
Nothing like some “hold him down and I’ll just do it” action to scar a kid for life (figuratively and literally).
