Shame-shaming sounds like a good way of reducing Danny to a catatonic wreck with cuts all over his arms. Which I don’t think even the most ardent Danny-haters would wish on him.
(I hope.)
Playing the Devil’s Advocate here. She doesn’t seem to be saying to him that he shouldn’t be feeling guilty.
She say’s he’s soaking in it and enjoying it. Different slant on it that way.
Still, she is sanctimonious and in-your-face. Not much on ‘cheering up a friend’.
That’s Rebecca St. James again? I just assumed that Mary, no longer content with being obnoxious in ONE body, had assumed a second level of reality inside Danny’s poster.
See, this strip here is why I always assumed we were supposed to hate Mary. I mean, Danny is wallowing, but he at least is responding to things in a human way. Mary is callous in a faux-cheerful, self serving manner that screams antagonist.
As far as I am concerned her only crime is not saying words in an order that makes any damn sense. Like, ‘you used to be moral but now you feel guilty,’ the hell kinda point is she trying to make?
And the reasons to hate just keep on coming.
Add: bringing up painful relationship.
I’m giving her more points for her position that what Danny is doing wrong here is not killing his friend but feeling guilty about killing his friend.
So the moral is it’s okay to kill people as long as you don’t feel bad about it afterwards.
I guess he isn’t doing enough rosaries or whatever
Hail Marys.
So, he needs to start throwing footballs…
I mean that’s basically the moral of Tales of Zestiria–
Technically he didn’t kill her.
He put her in a position where it was either let him die or sacrifice yourself.
Only, y’know unknowingly.
Pretty sure shame-shaming doesn’t actually work, for obvious reasons…

Maybe she’s come to commit seppuku, that’d cheer some of us up.
[ERROR: TIME PARADOX]
Rebecca St. James is in the back.
Mocking them both.
“My word?” So she’s not only aggressive and hectoring, but also pompous.
coughandhypocriticalcough
Oh right. She DID fixate on that “everything I believed in was false” one. And is probably being all sanctimonious because he drank.

As annoying as she is, she’s right. So’s Danny.
Exactly, Willis! That’s what made it tragic…
Oh god, for the first time: I love Danny so much right now.
What the hell is up with her eyebrows? She seems incapable of facial expressions that do not involve one eyebrow raised.
That must’ve been one of Willis’s now-outdated turn-ons

“You used to be so MORAL Danny”
Wait, so we’re supposed to be on Mary’s side here. Right? Does that mean we’re ALSO supposed to not like how Danny’s acting?
As far as I am concerned her only crime is not saying words in an order that makes any damn sense. Like, ‘you used to be moral but now you feel guilty,’ the hell kinda point is she trying to make?
Yeesh, Mary, even the crazy stalker was more likeable than you! When that’s the case, you /KNOW/ something’s wrong!
